The Open Source domain is an exciting domain to be working in. Open Source tools and technologies are fueled and driven by passion. Nothing builds superior tools and technologies like passion does. Regretfully there is no specific place on the Internet that delivers comprehensive, well graded tutorials, mapped to a series of hands on exercises to help you become an Open Source professional.  We hope to address this.

Opportunities For Employment

There is a fair deal of employment opportunities available in various development houses for individuals who have competent Open Source skills.  Till date individuals who have competent Open Source skills seem to have picked up these skills on their own. They've read books or referred to various websites and forums, or have been trained in these skills on the job by the software development house they are employed in.

Learning via Internet driven tutorials and technical forums can be quite a task. Often this requires a higher than normal set of technical abilities to understand and benefit from tutorials and tech forums alone.

To help websites that offer tutorials often have a subscriber driven forum where participants can post queries and get their queries answered by other, perhaps more adequately enabled individuals, who willing share their time and skills helping others.

Our Open Source training website is going to offer much more. 

We have dedicated techies, who work daily with the very same Open Source tools and technologies on which the tutorials are based, monitoring the website user forums and sharing their skills with registered users when necessary during normal working hours Monday to Friday.

In addtition I've decided that I must to do my bit by personally mentoring  the first fifty registrants of this tutorial site through their journey in picking up Open Source tools and technologies.

To ensure that this happens I will be personally available between 10:00am and 11:00am, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, accessible via keyboard chat, to answer questions associated with the on-line tutorials.

High Quality Tutorials

I've actively participated in the creation and grading of all tutorials as well as the hands-on exercises and their solutions.  The tutorials themselves have been created and tested by Ganesh Sawant and Meher Bala, sound Open Source evangelists who have been personally trained and groomed by me.  The English has been audited by Kavita Mawani.  I must not forget to mention Prerna, who has personally (and almost) single handedly documented choice Joomla plugins that are a must to extend the functionality of any Joomla based website.

This is the first time that such a format is being used to develop Open Source skills and capabilities.  I'm being extra careful about how this tutorial site’s reputation is built.  We really do want to offer a whole new learning experience, bound to daily mentoring.

No other tutorial site has anything like this on offer.
